Womanhood (2015)

I. Commodification. I am not a person - I am a body. I have no thoughts, no personality, no emotions. I am merely an object whose worth is tied to how sexually attractive and available I am.

II. Ownership. My body is mine, all mine, and only mine, regardless of my dress.

III. The Parts of Womanhood They Didn't Show Me. They showed me tall, skinny, effortlessly beautiful women. They showed me what it looked like to be wanted, and they made it look so easy. They did not show me periods, and so much more than that... They did not tell me about adhering to the male gaze. They didn’t show me catcalls, lustful stares from strange men, or the fear when walking home by myself at night.
