rates:

My hourly rate is around $250, which is also my minimum at this time. My hourly refers only to time when I am actively tattooing, not for drawing/set up/stencil placing (so please don’t be shy about placing the stencil, or asking for breaks during the tattoo!) I say that my hourly rate is “around $250” because I always operate on a sliding scale basis, which is usually a range of ~$100.

what is sliding scale?

  • The essential idea behind sliding scale is that you are paying based on your access to resources and financial privilege. Between me and you, sliding scale works on an honor system — I trust you to be honest about where you are, no questions asked.

  • Pay on the HIGHER END of the scale if: you have access to financial security, or have personal savings. You are able to comfortably meet all of your basic needs.

  • Pay in the MIDDLE of the scale if: you’re trying to build savings, conquer debt, or move away from paycheck-to-paycheck living, but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs.

  • Pay on the LOWER END of the scale if: you have no access to savings, struggle to maintain access to basic needs (ex. healthcare, housing, food, child care). You might be in significant debt.

  • Here is an infographic that depicts sliding scale, if it is helpful!

At this time, I’m also running a PWYW (pay-what-you-want) program. This is ONLY for people on the lower end of sliding scale, or who would not be able to afford this service otherwise. This program prioritizes queer people of color, particularly Black and darker-skinned folks. Please be sure to mention that you are applying through the PWYW program in my booking form!

I appreciate tips, but do not find them necessary while I’m working out of my regular studio in NYC. I feel this way because I don’t have an employer, aka no one is exploiting my labor, and I’m already charging you a price that feels fair to me. Also, note that tips don’t need to take a monetary form – I love baked goods, your own art, gifts of any sort!

deposit / fees:

A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required for all appointments, and ensures that your time and date will be booked and dedicated to you. This deposit covers the time and energy spent preparing/drawing for your tattoo, and protects me from cancellations. If you want major adjustments to your tattoo design on the day of your appointment (or want a different tattoo entirely), you will need to reschedule and send in a new deposit.

  • A 15-minute late arrival, with no notice, will be treated as a cancellation.

  • If you need to reschedule within 3 days before your appointment, you will be charged an extra $50 fee.

covid requirements:

Please respect these boundaries — they are implemented to ensure the safety of myself and all my clients. They must be completed regardless of vaccination status.

  • You must wear a mask throughout your session

  • If you’re able to do so, please come by yourself (no guests)

  • If you’ve been exposed to someone with COVID, please reschedule

I also get COVID tested on a regular basis. Please email me if you’d like to see my most recent results :-)

booking process:

If my books are open, you can fill out my booking form here. I’ll respond to your form via email – once I offer you an appointment, the time will be reserved for 24 hours. if you don’t reply to that email in that amount of time, your appointment might be offered to someone else (sorry about the quick turn-around!)
